Barry Walker was born in Sydney , Australia , but now makes his home in Maple Ridge, B.C.  He completed his early training at the East Sydney College of Art, where he studied portraiture at a young age.  Barry worked as a professional graphic artist for over thirty years, but now enjoys painting full time.  His interests are mainly seascapes and landscapes, and Barry finds unlimited subjects to choose from on the B.C. coast, in the Canadian Maritime provinces and most recently on a visit to Australia , in Victoria and NSW coastal areas.

Barry has had his work shown at quality galleries on the Lower Mainland and the Sunshine Coast , and has also recently started exhibiting at galleries in Halifax , Nova Scotia .  Barry is a member of The Federation of Canadian Artists in Vancouver where he has exhibited his work for the past 7 years.  Among his commission clients are the Toronto Real Estate Board, and Via Rail Canada .

Barry designs his paintings to make you stop and look again, with the intention of catching both your eye and your imagination. That is the very essence of his painting, to tell a story and hold your attention with composition and color.
